Default SF: condition/hex remover is a good idea

I went out into sorrows furnace with some henchies. i noticed the massive amount of conditions and hexes flying around.

am i the ONLY person who thinks that being a dedicated condition/hex remover is a good idea?

Big Jim is advertising himself as this and i just get: can you heal? or: r u prot??

no i bloody am not bloody prot!! i am what i advertised!!
no one seems to see the worth of this idea so i come here for reassurance...

most people dont know that SF is conditions/hex central. i'm sure soon you'll see people advertising to be protectors/condition removers.

Ha! I was psychic. I re-specced my E/Mo with some hefty points in Protection Prayers and included Convert Hexes and Mend Ailment. Muahahahaha... I am the second coming of Nostradumbass. :P

Exactly. I found myself operating under about 10 like 5 metres into it

But it was fun, after all

so you are fully hex/condition removal with nothing else? The conditions just are not detimental enough to warrant a party member dedicated to their removal--it is not like the enemy is using Fragility. I really don't think you could pull your full weight like that.

I am running a Heal/Prot/Condition Removal. I am using Draw Conditions to keep people clean and healing/prot when they are not conditioned or when they are just getting spammed with Poison.

Nah the rest is fire magic. I'm not sure yet what the best element to use in SF is so I went with the old standby.

I run a boon prot monk for SF, and I use contemplation of purity, mend condition, remove/smite hex, with E-Drain for energy management. I also have aegis, reversal, and guardian, so I do my share of prot. It's working wonders so far, I've not had much problems with hexes at all. The heretics are a peice of cake

I've been warning friendlist and guildmate monks to take Smite Hex and Mend Condition, and to stay well back themselves. Oh and Remove Hex or Inspired Hex or Shatter Hex too.

Cant sit there all day removing hexes when people are getting hurt and rehexed easily. Mend ailment/Mend condition are good cuz you get healing bonuses. Dwayne's Kiss is your breadmaker here. Spam on vig spirit as a prebuff use dwayne's kiss on someone who has a hex and enchant on them: almost always a 90-130 +divine favor heal.

Oh god, don't put enchantments on people down there unless you hate them and you think Shatter Enchantments is a kind of icecream. Spam Smite Hex every 15 seconds accross 3 monks and you'll be amazed at the AoE damage you can pop out. Or heal them with Dwayna's and ~then~ Smite the hex.

The biggest problem as a healer is if you take Lina as prot. monk, cause then your skill bar needs mend aliment(sp?) or something similar, and a hex removal wouldn't be out of place either... seems she doesn't carry either though... as for sorrow's furnace, haven't gotten there quite yet thanks for the warning.

I predicted this.
I deliberately set my monk for protection a week before the update.

If anyone can solo these areas, they must be owed a congratulations. ArenaNet have made sure that their most difficult area is indeed just that.

No hench ever carries hex removal or condition removal in the entire game. At all.

Edit: Just making a point. It's rather annoying.

"I'm suffering from Weakness!"
*Alesia casts Healing Breeze on you*

...

Gee thanks.

"I have Backfire on me!"

*Lina casts Shield of Regeneration on you*

Umm, yeah...

They only use 5-6 out of their 8 skill slots, you'd think they could squeeze in hex/condition removal =\

Convert Hexes, Remove Hex, Martyr, Mend Ailment. Use the other 4 slots for prot skills.

A pure hex remover, nope... But to have good hew removal and know what to remove yes.

The 2 major ways:

- monk with convert/remove hex

- mesmer with shatter (and hexbreaker for Me secondaries... I guess Wa/xx heading to SF might need to respec to /Me and take hex breaker)

More than that would be overkill. Or drop a Nature renawal with an interrupt mesmer?
